This page explains how to compare professional guides, outfitters and accompanied-day enquiries. There are currently no public guide listings here, so Hunting.ie cannot promise a match. For a commercial trip, also review the hunting trips guide and outfitters directory.
Use an enquiry to describe the need; verify the person and proposed activity before agreeing anything.
A paid guided day, or an accompanied stalk to learn the ropes. Your county, species and experience level.
If a suitable contact is available, we may make an introduction. This is not certification, insurance, land-permission or identity verification.
Rate, dates, identity, insurance, land access, licences, firearm arrangements and meeting point must be agreed and verified directly.
No public guide listings are currently available. Do not treat an enquiry acknowledgement as a confirmed guide or trip.
You can review the outfitter directory, read the source-gated planning pages, or submit an enquiry for a possible introduction. Hunting.ie does not confirm that a guide, place or date is available.
Experienced guide or outfitter offering lawful, insured activities on land you are authorised to use? Submit the listing details for editorial review. Review does not amount to certification or endorsement, and publication is not guaranteed.
If you want a commercial holiday package, start with hunting trips in Ireland. If you want a local learning route, an accompanied stalk, or a day with someone experienced before pursuing your own permissions, this guides page is the better fit. For game-bird options, cross-check the bird hunting guide before enquiring.
Knowing which you want makes the match faster.
A commercial operator may advertise guided days or packages. Before paying, confirm the contracting business, written inclusions, cancellation terms, insurance, current land authority, licences and firearms arrangements. See the outfitters directory as a research starting point.
An informal introduction does not remove legal, insurance, firearm, licence or land-access requirements. Establish identities, the land occupier's authority, the purpose of the outing and who is responsible for each requirement before attending.
Use official sources for regulated requirements and ask the proposed guide for evidence relevant to the actual activity. Hunting.ie does not decide whether a person, firearm, place or plan is lawful.
NPWS says deer hunters must hold a valid Deer Hunting Licence and follow the current Open Seasons Order. Its 2026/27 application page says first-time applicants need evidence of approved deer-hunting training, and provides a dedicated route for applicants connected with a commercial tour operator. Firearm certification is administered separately by An Garda Síochána. Do not rely on a guide to merge or waive these requirements.
For a paid activity, ask for the provider's legal name, current contact details, written service description, total price, cancellation terms and what is excluded. Ask who holds the land authority and relevant insurance, and how firearms and licences are handled. Hunting.ie has not verified a market-wide price or a standard package.
Firearm suitability, certification and use are regulated and circumstance-specific. Use Garda guidance, NPWS requirements and a competent authorised professional for the actual application and activity. This page does not recommend a firearm, calibre, ammunition or training provider.
Do not infer permission from a conversation, map pin, club name or guide listing. NPWS specifically requires landowner-permission details for certain out-of-state deer-licence applications, while Garda firearms guidance also addresses nominated shooting land. Confirm the legal authority for the exact ground and activity before attending.
A useful answer is specific and written. Pressure to pay before the place, authority, terms and paperwork are clear is a reason to pause.
